KHPC/0326/16 Kelvedon Hall “Back of House” Festival – for information
Kelvedon Hall has made two licensing applications to BBC: one, a variation to allow camping and associated entertainment, the second an application for a three-day food and music festival, “Back of House” attended by 1500 ticket holders, with hours extended to 2am.
Following a meeting with the owner and her solicitor where the concept behind the application and the sound conditions were explained and a site plan provided, our Clerk responded to both applications as follows:
“In general, Kelvedon Hatch Parish Council supports initiatives such as this proposed event. Although we were concerned about the late finish time for the licence application, we have since met with the landowner who has provided additional details and reassured us that the nature of the event should not impact on local residents, providing that the conditions in Part O para 30 are met.”
KHPC/0326/17 Woods Retreat – 26/00002/LAPRE
A Licensing Sub-Committee hearing has been convened to take place at the Town Hall on 21stApril 2026 to determine the outcome.
The hearing will be open to the public and will also broadcast on the council’s website and, whilst members of the public would not be permitted to raise your concerns at the meeting, they are welcome to attend.
KHPF has concerns with ingress, egress and car parking situation.
Both entrances/exits (they are only 1 car wide) to the site are at curved stretches of either Ongar Road / Frog Street and there is no alternative parking around the site neither. If they are planning to have 300 people at one time, that could be anything between 50 – 100 car parking spaces needed.
KHPC/0326/18 Community Power Workshop – Community Action Plan KHPC/1225/13
Essex CC has some available budget and has offered a fully funded POWER Workshop with neighbouring parishes.
