The Parish

Our village is situated between Brentwood and Ongar, approximately four miles north of Brentwood, Essex and is located in the heart of the Metropolitan Green Belt. Adjoining Parishes include Blackmore, Doddinghurst, Navestock and Stondon Massey. [ Map ]

Whilst the primary shopping, entertainment and transport facilities are located in nearby Brentwood, the village boasts its own Post Office, convenience store, camping shop, estate agent, DIY outlet and even a Secret Nuclear Bunker! Local education is provided by an excellent Infant and Junior school within the village and a choice of good comprehensive schools in Brentwood and Ongar. Local clubs and organisations are well catered for with both the village and church halls providing a convenient venue for many popular local activities and functions.

A delightful village pond provides a central focus for the village. The parish has two public houses (both provide food) and an Indian Restaurant within its boundaries providing attractive venues for those wishing to enjoy good hospitality, food and drink. The Green Belt designation has led to Kelvedon Hatch becoming a very popular commuter village surrounded by open space, well-maintained footpaths and arable farmland.

Access to the M25 motorway is only minutes away and with a good and regular train service to London from Brentwood, the village is a very pleasant and popular place to live. Buses run from Kelvedon Hatch to both Brentwood and Ongar. We enjoy all the benefits of rural life and the benefits of being close to popular towns and transport routes.
